Seems ages since I had time to write here. My other half is still off work with the prospect of a spinal operation hanging over his head. Back on SSP, with someone else using his van, took some of his personal tools out of the van, but had to leave most of it. Keeping fingers crossed that none of the stuff we left goes missing. G's mum hasnt been too well, his dad is having now to administer her medication as she is either taking too much of the wrong stuff or not enough of the right stuff. Puss Cat has been off colour. Feeding habits way out of sinc - clammering for food all day - had a bit of a tummy bug a couple of months ago. Took her back to the vets - he thinks it could be an overactive thyroid of all things. Watch this space. Back at college with an assignment looming. Struggling to get back into the way of it - especially its subjects Im not familiar with Marketing & Finance. Doing my fitness course - same as Kaz. Im alright stamina wise but other wise forget it! Ive been walking more and using the exercise bike but with hubby not being allowed to do x/y and other studies its been hard to fit it all in. Been tryign to keep a food diary as well. Bought a couple of healthy eating books - what a waste of money! Receipies are yeuch.

what a roller coster month. Day we break up for holiday - the stearing goes on Gordon works van. Spent most of our Wedding Anniversary at the Royal Infirmary waiting for Gordon to get an MRI scan. Weather on holiday was rotten - though I did manage to go horse ridding on a pure bread arab mare. Lost both gold fish when we got back. Cat has not been too well - looks like a tummy bug - taking her back to vets on sat - has been on a light diet this week of chicken. To cap it all - Gordon's back went whilst driving on the M8, and lost all power to his legs. His "lovely" work told him to phone an ambulance himself. Ended in Monklands had to wait in A&E from 11.30 am to 4.30 pm before he was admitted to a ward - he did get a thorough examination at the hospital though and they found out the results of his MRI - a prolapsed disk. Off work till the end of next week at least and not allowed to drive. His most we think will pay him off when he gets back as they are not happy with him being off. Also my traininee was paid off whilst I was away - double work load - great stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2nd wedding aniversary - how time has flown. Couldnt do much celebrating - spent most of the day at the Royal Infirmary - Gordon had his MRI scan on his back - also travelling to Scarborough tomorrow no drink tonight either. On a happier note - never usually shop in Next but they have had their sale on - trousers £3 a pair - same for skirts amongst other stuff. So stocked up on some new trousers for work at the weekend- had a bit of difficulty finding my size though - a lot of the stuff was either tiny or huge - most of the items my size had went by the time I got there. Still got about half a dozen trousers, 1 skirt, 1 dress, 1 top for about £40 not bad shopping

On holiday for two weeks, and boy do we need them. My traininee who should have been covering for me while Im off has phone in sick for at least two weeks due to hurting her back in the garden(mmmmmmmmmmm most convenient!!!!) to cut a long story short - not only have I had to clear up my own work I've had to look through all her's as well and pass on a list of stuff for the poor person who is having to cover. Any way had a bit of luck with this week - after having been in the works prize draw for 10 years and never won a thing have landed a £75 prize. Just in nice time for the hols. Wedding Aniversary tomorrow 7th August, but wont be able to celebrate much as Gordon has to be at the Royal Infirmary for 4pm for a MRI scan and we are driving to Scarborough on Tues morning. Managed a night out last night though - had a wedding reception to go to. Parents of the bride told us a lot of people didnt bother turning up - even the bride's own sister - poor kid! Been feeling pretty emotional all week - probably the time of the month working on me - hopefully wont turn up while we-re on holiday - nothing worse than having blob week while in a caravan.

got a note of congratulations from the head of housing for my good results from the college and especially the last module - the CIH (Chartered Institute of Housing) markers comments were pretty good. Got a little windfall from the Standard life flotation. Cleared of overdraft and visa. Getting new glasses, some new blinds for the house and bought some new clothes. Getting a load of stuff for family history will take a bit of sifting through before going further.

Gordon was a bit better last night - he's not used to this type of work and it will be a while before he is. Got his 1st wage packet yesterday and that perked up a bit. Got him some herbal stuff to settle the nerves.

Gordon is absolutly hating his new job - job conditions are crap for instance only 20 days holiday a year and that includes bank holidays. He has to replace oil, windscreen wipers etc on the works van. No overtime even though it was after 7 he finished last night. He's all over the country rather than a set area. If there is a fault with blinds and he remesures and it is still wrong he has to pay for them. thats just a few of the conditions. He's feeling ill every morning going in he was almost in tears last night when he thought he'd mislaid money. We found it luckily. I hate seeing him like this

Was invited by my work to attend the Enterprise Scotland awards, major headache trying to get a suitable outfit - black tie afair. Friends will know the panic I was in. Anyway got a little black number from TKMAx in the end. Glad I did - per posh doo. West Lothian Council was entered in the Quality Scotland category - we won, and all our party got to go on stage to collect the award and got a photo taken afterwards. Champagne night - and all the wine you could drink, and a 4 course dinner superb.

now college is finished for the summer I have time to do other things. Last 3 modules were hectic, especially since i was doing 2 at one time. Then we had R&I in at work as well. Hopefully things are now looking up. Gordon has left the dreaded Truck Tec and is starting a new job on Monday. More money and less heavy lifting. Been struck down with a horrible cold that triggered of my asthma & gave me a respitory infection been yeuch for a week. Going to be fund raising on sat for kidney research - other people have let us down for the sunday bummer

Im dreading college this week! Last week was a nightmare, one of my class mates, who is a big of a know it all, had emailed head office to the training manager that we had concerns over the current lecturer we have. She did not ask any of us if she could or should send the email. However, it was sent and then the training manager's assistant sent it in its entirity to the lecturer concerned. He was livid! So a rather uncomfortable "discussion" took place with him and then the head of the department (who also happens to be his wife). We had a site visit later that afternoon so didnt have much to do with him later. I have heard though he did say to one person that he had doubts whether he should continue teaching us. Yes he has a very confusing way of teaching but he knows his stuff on this subject at least. What gets me is the person who sent the email had said in the beginning she liked the lecturer and didnt see what the problem was and then suddenly she sends the email out of the blue. I hope he doesnt take it out on us by marking us down. The girl who caused the hullaballo is the one who has previously asked me for help with stuff, but when you go to her for help, "sorry". She blows hot and cold very much. Havent been on line much as Im trying to concentrate on this module and not give any one a chance to say Im not doing my own work. A certain person hinted as much. The two faced little cow.
